Buying USDA Certified Organic- coffees is one way to show your support to growers who value their land and local environment. Organic farmers do not use any chemical pesticides, herbicides or insecticides on their crops. These chemicals have varying levels of toxicity to every part of an eco-system; the soil, insects, local wildlife, nearby plants and trees, the workers who apply them and the consumers who eat them. They also deplete soil health which causes erosion into our water systems which, in turn, damages our water supplies and oceans. So you can see, avoiding chemical use whenever possible can only do good in repairing our much depleted agricultural system. As if that wasn't enough, organic products taste significantly better and you'll be able to tell that after one sip of our delicious brews.

Ethically Traded Coffees- As our mission states, we believe in quality, above and beyond all expectations. We like to find coffee farmers that share this belief and commitment. While we are no longer certified fair trade, we pay well over the minimum certified price for all of our coffees, often times our farmers see twice the minimum price or more. We pay this price because the coffee is worth it, the farmers are worth it and a quality product is worth paying a premium for. While we agree with some of the "fair trade" values, we feel more strongly that farmers who produce the highest quality coffee should receive the highest prices, regardless of their participation in certifications. We are more than willing to fully disclose our purchasing practices and prices paid, please contact us for more information.
